Corporate responsibility

Social commitment

When we support people, we invest in our collective well-being. At DCM, that investment involves serving our communities, improving quality of life for our associates, and fostering diversity, equity & inclusion across our business.

Our strategy for corporate social responsibility (CSR)

What we focus on

Associate growth and development

Our support ranges from tuition reimbursement to a rewards and recognition program.

Associate well-being

An employee assistance program. A comprehensive health and safety program. Hybrid working. Competitive benefits. These are some of the ways we make DCM a better workplace for our associates.

Diversity, equity & inclusion

We encourage our associates to speak their truth and be their authentic selves every day.

Reconciliation

We support the ongoing journey of reconciliation for Canada’s Indigenous Peoples.

Giving back

Through associate volunteering, company-wide food and book drives, and various initiatives at individual facilities, we support the communities in which we live and work.

Our partners

Associates from DCM Calgary rolled up their sleeves to help build a series of condo units that are now home to 32 families.

Building stronger communities

We strongly believe everyone deserves access to decent, affordable housing, which is why we are such ardent advocates of Habitat for Humanity Canada.

Since 2014, we’ve worked with Habitat Canada to amplify the impact of its national brand and highlight the crucial role its ReStore network plays in making affordable homeownership a reality.

Through services ranging from brand strategy and retail design to email marketing and digital workflow management, we’re helping this remarkable organization maximize its fundraising investment and marketing efficiency. In 2022, we were proud to become the digital agency of record for Habitat for Humanity Canada.

Making life better for our associates

At DCM, we believe the most fulfilling careers come from a balanced approach to work and life outside work. In addition to giving all associates opportunities to excel in their field, we also consider it our responsibility to develop their skills, enable their growth, make them feel safe and appreciated, and enhance their personal wellness.

We work diligently to create an environment that achieves all of this, giving teams the chance to work with market-leading clients and cutting-edge technology, supported by programs focused on their physical, mental, and financial well-being. Programs like our flexible hybrid working model, health insurance, pension plan, employee assistance program (EAP), tuition reimbursement, and more.

Keeping associates healthy and safe

DCM has a formal health and safety program that is based on our health and safety policy and documents safe work procedures, training requirements, and accountability.

The general manager of each of DCM’s manufacturing facilities develops and implements an annual plan with objectives and tasks required by the health and safety program. And each new DCM associate undergoes a thorough training program that familiarizes the individual with job hazards and the necessary procedures to protect themselves. The program identifies who needs training, in which areas, and how often.

A regulatory health and safety compliance audit is completed every two years at each manufacturing facility. Performance is measured using KPIs related to accident rates and severity.

Each site has a joint health and safety committee (JHSC) comprising both management members and hourly associates in equal ratios. Together they review the health and safety program and make recommendations to management to improve it.

Diversity, equity & inclusion

A diverse, respectful work environment that welcomes many backgrounds and perspectives is not only better for our associates; it makes our company more flexible and competitive in a constantly evolving marketplace.

Team members who feel confident to be themselves at work and embrace different ways of thinking come up with better ideas and more effective solutions.

Led by our DEI Council, which includes associates from across the company, we celebrate our differences and promote inclusion across all areas of our business, from our supply chain and senior leadership to the organizations we support.
